Tomesen Parquet & Design celebrates its fifties anniversary in 2010!

Our family business stands for creativity, flexibility and quality handmade products manufactured by our own parquetteurs and furniture makers. For already five decades they place our timber products with great expertise and job satisfaction in as well residential- as  work environments.

Creativity and flexibility are possible because the process of cutting the stem until the drying of wood happens in our private drying rooms. The further processing of parquet – with advanced planing- and milling machines to modern film stock lasers – takes place in our own production area. By keeping the drying process in-house, for example extreme width of floors are possible. Also on underfloor heating. Every conceivable form is therefore possible.

Tomesen Parquet & Design has in fifty years time also proved to be an indispensable extension of any architect who wants to ‘play with wood’. We like to work with leading architects from home and abroad. This successful collaboration has resulted in a wide range of projects to which Tomesen Parquet & Design has made an exclusive contribution. Using our thorough knowledge and experience, we combine the beauty that architects have in mind with the quality that clients want.

History

In 1960 the brothers Ben and Frans Tomesen launched the production of parquet floors. After the death of both founders, the company continued in 1995 by the son of Frans, the current director Wilbert Tomesen. This second generation added successfully woodwork for ships and shop interiors to the timber line. With the current site of 15.000 square meters –  of which the production area consumes 4.500 square meters and the  extensive showroom over 1.100 square meters – the company is unique in its kind.
